Yvonne "Bonnie" Burkhard Wise

WISE - Yvonne "Bonnie" Burkhard Wise of Palm Beach Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday August 1, 2015 in her home at Fox Hill Village, Westwood, MA with her beloved dog Andre at her side.
She was the daughter of Marion and Andrew Burkhard of Pittsburgh, PA where she was born on October 14, 1918. Bonnie was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and the University of Pittsburgh. She married her childhood sweetheart, Robert E. Wise M.D. in 1943 and enjoyed 69 years of marriage until her husbands' death August 12, 2012. While supporting her husband's career endeavors Bonnie participated in many volunteer organizations and clubs. She was a past president of The New England Baptist Hospital League, a member of the Newton Wellesley Hospital Junior Aid Association and the president of the Lahey Clinic Wives Association. She and her husband were members of The Algonquin Club, Wellesley Country Club, Brae Burn Country Club, Webhannet Golf Club and The Everglades Club.
Bonnie was fortunate to have made many friends while living in Pittsburgh PA, Cleveland OH, Wellesley Hills MA, Boston, MA, Kennebunkport ME, Manalapan, FL and Palm Beach, FL. She is survived by her three children, Lynne Wise Smith of Portsmouth, NH, Robert Jr., of Concord MA, and John of Lincoln, MA, their spouses, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass for Bonnie on Tuesday, August 11th at 11am in St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St., Westwood, MA.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Robert E. Wise, M.D. Research and Education Institute, Lahey Clinic, 41 Mall Road, Burlington, MA, 01805.
