William J. Walsh

WALSH – William J. Jr., of Westwood, formerly of Brookline, died October 13, 2014. He is survived by his devoted wife Jane of 55 years and his five children: Susan Toolin (Bob) of Underhill, VT, Deborah Farrell (Paul) of Foxboro, Lynne McGeary (Jim) of Foxboro, Diane Gavin (Jim) of Westwood and Bill Walsh (Shana) of Raymond, NH.

Also survived by his siblings: Anne O'Connor of North Falmouth, Gerard Walsh of Walpole, Edna Barry of Cohasset, Patricia Padden of Newton and was predeceased by two sisters Jeanne Mason and Kathleen Herman.

Bill was known as "Bookabee" to his fabulous grandchildren: Cara, Christie, Laura and Mattie Toolin, Meaghan (O'Neil), Samantha, Julie and Molly Farrell, Lindsey, Drew, Annie and Caroline McGeary, Katelyn (Shaw), Jimmy, Kevin and Danny Gavin and Sofia and Ella Walsh.

Bill worked as a Comptroller for several corporations and he retired at the age of 74. Bill volunteered with Westwood baseball, softball and basketball in the 1970's and 1980's. He enjoyed Irish music, sports and crossword puzzles.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St. (off Route 109) Westwood on Friday Oct. 17 from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Denis Church, 157 Washington St. Westwood, on Saturday morning Oct. 18 at 9:30am. Interment at New Westwood Cemetery.
