William John Gavin

Gavin --- William John (Ret. BPD) of Westwood, surrounded by his loving family, September 15, 2015. Beloved husband of Marjorie J. (Shea) Gavin. Loving father of John and Elaine Gavin of Worcester, William P. Gavin and Lynne of Braintree, Edward F. and Lisa Gavin of Duxbury and James J. and Diane of Westwood. Cherished Papa of Katelyn, Michael, Brendan, James, Laura, Melissa, Timothy, Kevin, Daniel, Carli, Nicole and Michael. Devoted brother of the late Eileen, Helen, Mary, Thomas and Joan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St. (Off route 109) Westwood, on Friday, Sept. 18, at 9:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Margaret Mary Church at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Interment with Military Honors, New Westwood Cemetery.

Bill was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Korea and a Retired Sergeant with the Boston Police Dept. with thirty five years of service.
