Virginia "Ginger" (McNeil) McGaffigan

McGaffigan, Virginia "Ginger" (McNeil), 76, of Norwood, formerly of West Roxbury. Passed away after a lengthy illness on December 14, 2016, surrounded by family. Beloved wife and best friend of Patrick "Joe" McGaffigan for 55 years. Loving mother of Joe and Kara McGaffigan of Quincy, Michael McGaffigan of Orlando, FL, Richard and Lisa McGaffigan of Florence, Theresa and John Awiszus of Medford, Kathy and Matt Costello of Medfield, and Brian McGaffigan of Norwood. Born and raised in Brighton, MA. She was predeceased by her parents, Ann and Elmer McNeil; brother Walter McNeil; and sister Mary Richards. Loving sister of Sr. Ann McNeil, Paul McNeil, and Eddie McNeil and his partner Debbie Cummings. Devoted Nana of Declan, Justin, Peyton, Megan, Ryan and Colin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her devotion to her faith, family and husband. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St. Westwood on Monday December 19 from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Funeral procession from the funeral home on Tuesday December 20, at 10:00am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Timothy's Church, 650 Nichols St. Norwood at 11:00AM. Interment private.
