Timothy Dwight Norris

Beloved father and pastor Timothy Dwight Norris passed away on September 29, 2026 of cancer. He was born in Colorado in 1947. He was preceded in death by wife Charlene Norris, and brothers Fred Danforth and John Norris.

Tim earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Arizona State University. His divinity education came from the American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkley, CA.

Tim served as the pastor of the First Baptist Church of Ontario, NY for 39 years. He was known for his infectious laughter, his listening, and his compassion.

Upon retirement Tim resided in Brooklyn, CT at the Pierce Memorial Baptist Home. He loved visits and video calls with his daughters and grandchildren, reading and discussing literature and current events, a good pun, and staying up-to-date on the latest Apple computers and devices.

Tim is succeeded by daughters Charla Mayotte (Hookset, NH) with grandchildren Carter and Emma, Stephanie Hedrick (Dover, MA) with grandchildren Rosemary and Joshua, and Rachel Khadse with grandchild Sanjana.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations in support of cancer research and treatment.
