Thomas Leo Moloney

d. January 18, 2020

Thomas Leo Moloney of Jamaica Plain passed away suddenly of a massive stroke at Brigham and Women's Hospital on January 18, 2020 at the age of 76 years old.
Loving brother of the late Robert F. Moloney.
His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children and their partners: Paul Moloney and Sara Moloney of Vienna, Virginia and Rachel Moloney and Paul Bauer of Norwood, Massachusetts; three grandchildren, Dylan and Hadley Moloney and Leo Bauer; sister Mary and brother-in-law Ralph Younie of North Eastham, Massachusetts; sister Janet and brother-in-law Jared Thwing of S. Weymouth, Massachusetts; sister Kathleen and brother-in-law David Hinchliffe of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts; Thomas is also survived by his long-time partner, Carol Ann Hamblin and her son Jonathan Hamblin of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, and his ex-wife and mother of his children, Marjorie Moloney of Westwood, Massachusetts, and several loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Tom was a star baseball player at English High School and after pitching 2 No-Hitters, he was scouted by major league baseball.
Needless to say, Tom was an avid sports fan, faithfully following all of the Boston sports teams.
Tom had so much pride for his original neighborhood of Mission Hill where he grew up. He was affectionately known as "Timo" to all of his friends and neighbors.
He served his country by enlisting in the Army National Guard.
He proudly worked for the Phone Company in different capacities for 40 years until his retirement.
All who knew Tom would remember him as a strong, kind and generous man. An all-around good guy.
He was so proud of his son Paul who shared his love for baseball and excelled in finance and economics and his daughter Rachel who studied hard to become a compassionate and caring nurse. He was also a very proud grandpa with his very intelligent grandson Dylan and beautiful little granddaughter Hadley. He lived long enough to meet his youngest grandson Leo who shares his Grandpas's middle name. Comparing baby photos, it is easy to see the resemblance between little Leo and Grandpa.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
