Susan Elizabeth MacLean

MACLEAN – Susan Elizabeth (Farrell), of Dover and Strathlorne, Cape Breton, Canada, formerly of Jamaica Plain, died at home peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on July 25th, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Daniel Murdock MacLean. Loving mother of Susan Barry and her husband David of Dover. Devoted grandmother of Daniel, Nicholas and Benjamin Barry. Sister of Annie Mae Crawford of Malden and the late William J. Farrell, Sarah Jean Moody, Dollena H. Piercey and Catherine Farrell. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Susan graduated from Somerville Hospital School of Nursing program in 1948 and was a member of the United States Cadet Nurse Corps. Susan has been visiting the Strathlorne, Cape Breton area since she was a young woman treasuring the time she was there.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St. (off Route 109) Westwood on Thursday July 30th from 4-7pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday morning July 31st, at 11:00 am in the First Presbyterian Church in Brookline, 32 Harvard St., Brookline. Interment at The Gardens at Gethsemane, 670 Baker St., West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan's memory to The American Liver Foundation, www.liverfoundation.org.
