Ruth Marie Dunnirvine

Ruth Marie Dunnirvine, of Wareham, MA, formerly of Needham, MA and Westwood, MA, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 23, 2023. Beloved mother of William J. Dunnirvine (Kristin) of Marlborough, CT, Michael P. Dunnirvine (Bernadette) of Longmeadow, MA, Jennifer A. Mitchell (Curtis) of Hampstead NC, and the late Kevin R. Dunnirvine (Natalie) of Bellingham, MA. Former wife of Richard J. Dunn of Westwood, MA and former mother-in-law of Silvia Dunnirvine of Holliston, MA. Cherished grandmother of Ryan, Kyra, Maria, Sophia, Luke, Cormac, John, Connal, Bradley and Jaxen. Loving sister of Teresa White (Don), Gail Irving Desroches (Stephen), William Irvine (Maryellen) and the late Kathryn Irvine-Pratt and the late Paul Irving. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Ruth's family was of utmost importance to her, in her early days spending much time with her siblings in Boston, embracing her Irish culture, and later welcoming her 4 children. Ruth was a devoted mother and grandmother, thoroughly enjoying watching her children and grandchildren play various sports. Ruth loved listening to Elvis, spending time talking on the porch to her Needham friends, crafting and bookbinding, and walking along the beach, especially with her son, Kevin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on Wednesday November 29^th from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning November 30^th at 10am in St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St., Westwood. Interment at New Westwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth’s memory to the Jimmy Fund.
