Robert L. Wasley

Robert Lafe Wasley, age 101, passed peacefully at home in Westwood, Massachusetts on May 8, 2021. He is survived by the love of his life, Elizabeth Stanton Wasley, his wife of 76 years. Also survived by his two sons Richard Stanton Wasley and wife Barbara of Yarmouth, Massachusetts, Keith Randolph Wasley and wife Louise of Chatham, Massachusetts and six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Robert was born on July 12, 1919 in Minneapolis, MN. He attended the University of Minnesota where he earned a BEE.

During the Second World War he served on an aircraft carrier (CVE-871) in the Pacific Theatre as a radar officer. Upon his return, he married his soulmate, Elizabeth, and they moved to Minneapolis for several years before returning to New England and settling in Westwood where they lived for the better part of the next three quarters of a century.

Bob worked as a Project Manager for Northrup Corp. for 33 years prior to his retirement to Chatham on Cape Cod.

He and his wife Elizabeth were active in many historical and genealogical groups such as DAR and Descendant of the Mayflower and were both avid swimmers, travelers and lovers of the Cape's beautiful beaches.

A private funeral service for the family only will be held at the Holden-Dunn-Lawler Funeral Home, Westwood, MA on May 13, 2021 with a graveside service to follow at New Westwood Cemetery.

Donations in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Robert's memory to the Charity of Your Choice.
