Robert Edward Geiger

d. January 3, 2023

Robert Edward Geiger of Medfield, MA – dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on January 3, 2023 at the age of 86 after a long illness.

Bob was born March 25th, 1936 in Yonkers, NY. He graduated from Hunter College in 1958, served in the Army Reserves, and then taught junior high school Art.

In June 1964 Bob met his future wife, Constance, at the Amackassin Tennis Club in Yonkers, and after a year of mixed doubles tennis, Yankee games, and Neil Diamond shows, Bob & Connie were married at Christ the king Church on June 12, 1965. In Dec. 1967 they welcomed their first and only child, Robert J.
Many happy years as a family were spent at the Amackassin tennis courts & pool before moving to Hastings-on-Hudson. Bob continued playing tennis, paddle tennis, watching sports (avid Yankee, Knicks, Giants fan), spending time with family (especially Sam's Restaurant in Dobbs Ferry, NY). He loved watching his son, Bobby, play tennis & football.

In 1982 Bob's job transferred him to Medfield, MA. He had a successful 30-year career in automobile leasing, later was manager of a tennis club for nearly ten years, before joining Helping Hands of America, where he worked until retirement.

Bob & Connie were members of Charles River Tennis Club in Medway for many years, where Bob served as VP and won several Men's and Mixed Doubles Championships. Bob & Connie enjoyed sharing neighborhood walks & participating at various events at the Medfield Senior Center. Bob was a natural as a grandfather, spending many weekends of his later years watching his grandchildren play a variety of youth sports. He will be remembered for his sharp wit, engaging smile and devotion to family.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Connie, his son Robert (wife Sheila), his three grandchildren, Jessica, Molly and Jack Geiger; his brother Frank (wife Sue & family), and brother-in-law, John Rogalski (& family) of Temple, TX. He is predeceased by sister, Rita, and brother Frederick.

Please remember Bob in your prayers. A private family burial will take place in the Spring.

We are appreciative for the excellent care he received at Briarwood Healthcare & most recently the compassionate care from Gentiva Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to The Medfield Senior Center, Medfield Animal Shelter or St. Jude.
