Robert S. "Sam" Brown

September 22, 1954 — June 1, 2017

Brown, Robert Sanford Jr., "Sam", born in South Dakota on September 22, 1954, passed away on June 1, 2017, after a short cardiac related illness. Sam was predeceased by his parents, Robert S. Brown Sr. and Susan Reynolds Brown and his brother Peter Edmund Brown. Sam made his home in Dover, MA and is survived by his wife Lisa and his daughter Lily. Sam is also survived by his sisters, Brenda Lou Brown Johannes, Elizabeth Susan Brown (Betsy), and brother in law William Johannes (Billy). Sam, a devoted father, spent the last 15 years of his life to raising Lily along with Nancy Brown, her mother. As a stay at home Dad, Sam cherished his role. Sam could always be found working at Lily's school, arranging a gathering or just generally supporting her and her friends. Sam was a dedicated Dad that left behind many fond memories across the many communities of people he touched. Many have already voiced memories of his laugh, his generosity, his intelligence and/or voracious reading, his inclusion of others and his never-ending quest for the best BBQ. Lily's love for her father is summarized beautifully in this quote "My Papa, raised me into the person I am today and I can never describe how incredibly powerful his reach was but if you have ever met him you would know instantly I love you Papa, and I miss you".
In addition to his wife and daughter, Sam leaves behind many friends including in particular, his close friends from his gun club; a place where he found constant companionship, respect and common interests.
We lost him too early. He will be missed. Services and interment are private.
