Rita M. McNulty, 77, of Westwood, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 31, 2026 at her home surrounded by the love of her family after enduring a long illness of cancer. She was the beloved wife of Paul S. McNulty (deceased).

Rita was born in Boston on September 28, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. Flaherty and Rita C. Flaherty (O’Sullivan). She grew up in Roslindale and graduated from Roslindale High School. For the last 26 years, she has resided in Westwood, MA. where she shared a home with her late husband.

Rita is survived by her very proud daughter, Michelle Brodeur of Millis, who adored her immensely. She is also survived by the loves of her life, her two very special grandchildren, Nick Patten (25) of Weymouth and Ryan Brodeur (16) of Millis. The boys were her world and meant everything to her, as she was so very proud of them and cherished every moment shared with both of them.

She had an unwavering love for her family and was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and for anyone that knew Rita was loved & treated just like family. Rita also had an extended family that was just like her own, Lynn Byrne of Norton was like a daughter to her and her son, Brendon was also like a grandson. In addition, Amy Nickerson of Walpole and her daughter, Harley O’ Donnell were very much a part of Rita’s extended family and loved like her own children / grandchildren. She treasured each and every person whether related or not she made everyone welcomed into her home and family.

Rita worked for many years at Lord’s & Lady’s Hair Salon as a Payroll Clerk, then went on to work for Hobart as an Administrative Assistant for many years until she became disabled in 2008.

Rita was predeceased by her siblings, her sister Anne Donofrio (Flaherty) and brother, Robert Flaherty. She is survived by her brother, Thomas Flaherty of Norwood, MA and her sister, Rosanne Lewandowski of Franklin. Rita is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and their families.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High Street, Westwood on Tuesday, September 15th at 11 a.m. Interment, following the Mass, at New Westwood Cemetery.
