Richard P. McDonough, age 85, of Westwood, formerly of Dedham passed away August 28th at Season's Hospice in Milton. Born in Boston, he graduated from Jamaica Plain High School and attended UMass Amherst and went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean Era. Dick worked in the IBEW 2222, as an Installer at Verizon for 37 years before retiring. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter and was a member of the Massapoag Sportsmen's Club in Sharon. He was also a member of the VFW in Dedham, the Am Vets in W. Roxbury and the Boylston Schul-Verein in Walpole.
Beloved husband of Ilse M. (Prebisch). Father of Timothy McDonough and his wife Beth of Westwood, Patrick McDonough and his wife Megan of Plymouth, Patricia Anderson and her husband Matt of Scituate, and Diane Luca and her husband Charles of Canton. Grandfather of Matthew, Patrick, Eric, and Elizabeth Anderson, Joseph and Isabella Luca, Madeline and Michael McDonough, Phin, Bonnie, and Autumn McDonough. Brother of Daniel McDonough of Weymouth, and the late James McDonough, Mary Buckley, and Patricia Coyne. Visiting hours at the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on Wednesday September 1st from 4-7 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St., Westwood on Thursday morning September 2nd at 10:00 am. Burial private. Veteran of the United States Army.
