Richard C. Fannon

FANNON, Richard C. Jr. "Dick," of Milton, MA, formerly of Westwood, MA, passed away on January 23, 2021, surrounded by his daughters. Beloved husband of the late Carolee M. Fannon for 46 years (until her passing on September 17, 2017). Loving father of Melissa and her husband Andrew Rush of Walpole and Sara and her husband Daniel Doherty of Milton. Loving grandfather of Emily and Abby Rush, Owen and James Doherty. Beloved brother of Jane Fannon, Audrey and the late Edward Fannon, and John and Linda Fannon. Brother-in-law of Mildred Henry and her late husband Frank of Lexington and John Collins and his wife Mary of Sutton, MA. He is survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Jamaica Plain, Richard graduated from Malden Catholic High School in 1960. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and received an Honorable Discharge. He received his B.A. in History from Boston University in 1964, followed by his Master of Education in 1967. He worked for Merrill Lynch as Vice President and Financial Advisor for over 30 years. Dick loved the game of golf, and cherished his time as a member of Charles River Country Club for over 20 years.
Private services and Catholic funeral mass will be held for immediate family only, due to the Covid pandemic. Interment with Military Honors at New Westwood Cemetery. Donations may be made in Richard's memory to the American Heart Association at www2.heart.org/goto/RichardCFannonJr
