Raymundo Rustrian

d. June 26, 2021

Raymundo Rustrian died peacefully at his Westwood, MA home on June 26, 2021. He was the much-loved husband and best friend of Margaret Hoyt Rustrian, a devoted son of the late Gregorio and Maria del Carmen, and the dear brother of Edith and the late Raul.

Raymundo was born, raised and educated in Mexico, where he worked for the national oil company. He met Margaret in Mexico City, where she was living after taking a sabbatical from teaching in Boston. They were married in Mexico but moved to Boston after their marriage. He and Margaret spent 33 happy years together. They enjoyed traveling within the US, and further afield, but made frequent trips to Mexico to reconnect with family and friends.

Raymundo was a retired primary school teacher, whose gentle nature endeared him to his students. He spent his free time pursuing his passions with Margaret and friends: painting, listening to classical music, writing poetry and taking in the many cultural offerings Boston had to offer.

He became fluent in English, and was also a US citizen. Mexico was never far from his heart and mind. He loved all things Mexican: the food, the music, the history, the people, the language. Mexico was also the inspiration for his art.

Raymundo was a faithful member of Saint Margaret Mary Parish. He will be remembered for his passion for the arts, his sensitive spirit, and for being devoted to his wife, family, friends and neighbors.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday morning August 24th, 2021 at 11am in St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St, Westwood.
