Peter A. D'Elia passed away peacefully at home in Westwood, MA after a brief illness at age 101. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret Rinaldi, sister Ann Rosenthal, his children Len D’Elia and wife Karen, Peter D’Elia Jr of NJ and Christopher D’Elia of AL, Tom Holcombe of NJ, Carol Rinaldi of RI, Jean Rinaldi, Tom Rinaldi and partner Sharon of MA along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his children Donna and her husband Patrick Forsyth, Bill and Debbie D’Elia, brother John D’Elia, brother-in-law Harry Rosenthal, Peter’s wife Edna D’Elia and step children Howard Holcome all of NJ, as well as Janet and Ann Rinaldi of MA.

Peter was born in Orange, NJ and graduated from Millburn High School. He then proudly served in the Navy during World War II. After the war, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Illinois Institute of Technology in Architecture. He then moved back to New Jersey, raised a family and enjoyed a long successful career as a self-employed architect. Peter enjoyed golf, reading, music, dance, travel and, above all, spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed spending winters in Florida. He was a member of the Lions Club for over 50 years and a member of the American Legion. Peter was a devoted husband to Margaret.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours at the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood, MA Tuesday, June 11th from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning, June 12th at 10am in St Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St Westwood. Interment private.
