Paul A. Powell Sr., 83, of Westwood, passed peacefully, October 11, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of Alice Mae (Hand) Powell for 58 years. Loving father of Paul A., Jr. and Lisa of Westwood, David E. and his wife Nancy of Bedford, Robert W. and his wife Carolyn of Westwood and Andrew H. and his wife Collette of Mount Pleasant, SC. Adored "Pops" to 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Brother of Peter H. Powell of Wellesley and the late Alfred E., John S. and Barbara A. Good. Funeral service and interment are private.
Paul grew up in Brookline and raised his family in Westwood. He graduated from The Roxbury Latin School, Harvard College and Harvard Law School. He was a principle of C.H. Powell Company and managed the company with his brothers for over fifty years. He enjoyed coaching his sons in Little League and leading them in the Boy Scouts of America. He also served as a Trustee and loyal supporter of The Roxbury Latin School.
Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of Paul's life on Sunday, October 30, 2016, between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm at The Roxbury Latin School, 101 St. Theresa Ave., West Roxbury, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
