Paul E. Melnitsky

d. October 22, 2022

MELNITSKY, Paul E. of Dedham, MA passed away on October 22, 2022, at the age of 74 after a period of failing health. Born and raised in Westwood, he was the son of the late Edward and Marie (Wormann) Melnitsky. Over 50 years ago he married his beloved wife, Patricia (Reynolds) Melnitsky, who passed away two years ago. They spent the majority of their adult lives together in Dedham raising five children.

Paul graduated from Westwood High School in 1966 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree at Nichols College. He was an engineer with a variety of companies, most recently Amphenol Alden Products in Brockton. Paul was an avid Boston sports fan, and also enjoyed coaching many youth sports while his children were young, such as hockey, soccer, and basketball. In more recent years, he was often a fixture at Blue Ribbon Grooming, his wife's shop in Dedham. He will be remembered for his fondness of puns and seemingly endless supply of "dad jokes."

Paul was the loving father of Mark Melnitsky of Conn.; Adam Melnitsky and his wife Teresa of Utah; Hannah Coates and her husband AJ of Westminster; Sarah Reder and her husband Ben of Conn.; and Benjamin Melnitsky of Boston. Brother of Peter Melnitsky and his wife Cathy of Attleboro; and Terry Potter and her husband Phil of Fla. Cherished grandfather to Charlotte and Julia; Lucas and Henry; Benjamin, Adah, Claire, and Alby; and Teddy and Harry. He loved his large extended family of many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, November 3, 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock Street, Westwood. Interment will be private.
