MOORE, Patrick L., of Dover, August 6, 2017, age 70. Beloved husband of Paula (McNeil) Moore. Devoted father of Andrew Harnett of Seattle, Gregory Harnett of Roslindale, and Valeria Moore of Dover. Glowing grandfather of Vanessa & Julianna Moore. Remarkable brother to Jack & Lorraine Moore of Kensington MD; Ellen & Bob Svenning of Boylston; and Bill & Sarah Moore of Toms River NJ. Brother-in-law to Carol McNeil & Richard Hunt of Littleton and Walter McNeil of Danville VT. Son-in-law of Alice McNeil of Dedham. "Uncle Pat" was adored by his many nieces and nephews.

Born in Schenectady NY and raised there and in Dunkirk NY, Pat graduated from St. Lawrence University and went on to earn his Ph.D. in Cell Biology from SUNY Albany. He had extensive postdoctoral and faculty experience at the Medical College of SC, Yale University Medical School, National Institutes of Health, and Woods Hole Marine Biological Laboratory. His specializations included fluorescence, immunology, pathology, and electron microscopy. Pat was the holder of a patent for cell "Live/Dead Kit," used in popular commercial biochemical products. He advised and aided scientists, physicians, and researchers from all over the world.

Pat's wife, children, and extended family were the blessed recipients of his incredible love, loyalty, and pride. Ever patient, kind, and generous, he exhibited unending selflessness and a steadfast consistency that were a constant source of comfort to all who knew him. He lived a life of love and purpose, with a commitment to science surpassed only by his devotion to his family and friends. His legacy to science is apparent, but the durable impression he left on those who knew him is unquestionable.
