GRIFFIN, Patricia (DUNN), age 68, of Westwood MA, passed away on Monday April 4, 2022 as a result of complications from a sudden and unexpected stroke. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Patricia was born in Boston, Massachusetts to John and Mary Dunn (KELLEY) on October 29, 1953. She grew up in Westwood, attended Ursuline Academy, and received her degree from Katherine Gibbs College in 1972. She was a loving mother and homemaker, and was proud to work at various periods for both Bergson's Ice Cream Shop in Westwood, and at Old Navy in Walpole. She was active in her local bowling league and played bingo regularly with friends. She also loved her annual family summer vacation to Newfound Lake, NH for over 40 years. Her "second career" showed her true calling as Nana to four adoring grandchildren.
Pat is survived by her husband, William; her son Matthew and his wife Diana of Foxboro and her grandsons Henry and Dexter; her son Mark and his wife Meghan of Massapequa Park, NY and her grandsons Conor and James; and her brother Rick Dunn of Westwood. She is predeceased by her brother, Jack Dunn. She also leaves her many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends she has touched throughout her life.
She met her husband, Bill, on a blind date in 1971. Their first date was a Red Sox game at Fenway Park in a Red Sox loss to the Royals. Five years and one day later, they were married on August 14, 1976, at Saint Margaret Mary Church in Westwood. She and Bill raised their own two children in the same house she grew up in, and have lived there together for over 45 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on Sunday April 10th from 2-5pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning April 11th at 10am in St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St., Westwood. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat's memory to www.jimmyfund.org
