STOREY – Nancy (Higgins), 73, long-time resident of Dover, MA, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2016 after a two and a half year battle with cancer. Born in Syracuse, NY on August 1, 1942, daughter of Sigrid Irene (Virta) Higgins and Thomas Wentworth Higgins, Nancy attended The Convent School, Syracuse, NY (1960) and later graduated from Manhattanville College (1964). Nancy and Jim enjoyed many sailing adventures on the Bounty, up the coast of Maine and throughout Nantucket Sound with family and friends. Nancy was a member of Wellesley Country Club and while she enjoyed gardening and tennis for many years, she grew to love the game of golf. She and Jim were never happier than when they were hosting a group of friends for a dinner party. Nancy was an avid reader and enjoyed her many book club friends. She was a member of the Dover Bridge Club and Wellesley Bridge Group. Nancy is survived by her children Elizabeth (Liza) and her husband James Brew of Westwood, William (Bill) and his wife Cheryl Storey of Shelburne, VT, Margaret (Meg) and her husband Laurence Groves of Cornwall, VT and Samuel (Matt) Storey of Dover. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kyle Brew of Washington, DC, Greer and Walker Storey and Malcolm, Gretta and Lucy Groves, as well as step granddaughters Carey Sivori of Ashburn, VA and Shauna Brew of Holly Springs, NC and by her sister, Johanna and her husband Daniel Robb of Dewitt, NY. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Thomas Wentworth Higgins. A private service will be held with family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Stanley R. Tippett Home, 920 South Street, Needham, MA 02492.
