Muriel V. Gallagher

Muriel V. Gallagher, formerly of Westwood, MA, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and most recently of Sarasota FL, passed away peacefully with loving family by her side on December 20, 2023 at the age of 95. She was the beloved wife of the late Lester E Gallagher. Devoted mother of Joseph Gallagher and fiancée Kathryn MacLeod of Walpole MA, Mary Hathorne and husband Robert of Wakefield MA, Jerome Gallagher and his wife Elana of Sarasota FL, Christine Lane and her late husband James of Scituate RI. Cherished Nana to Austin and his wife Erica, Lindsay, Sarah and her husband David, Bobby, Amy, Jake and Hailey. Leaving behind her most beloved great grandchildren Michael, Luke, Victoria and Riley.

Muriel was a devout Catholic and enjoyed many years of attending daily Mass with her husband Les. There she made many lifelong friends. Growing up in South Boston she still enjoyed her visits to Castle Island. Muriel loved to swim, from her favorite Old Silver Beach on Cape Cod to Singer Island FL. Even getting in the pool when it was only 58 degrees! Muriel was a trooper. She most enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, they brought so much joy to her life. Muriel will be deeply missed, but her love will live on within all who loved her.

A private service will be held to honor and remember Muriel at Holden-Dunn-Lawler Funeral Home, Westwood, MA and a celebration of life to be held a later date.
