McDonald — Mildred C. (O’Handley), age 87, of Westwood, died on Sunday, June 27th 2010. Beloved wife of the late Robert E. McDonald. Cherished mother of Bruce R. McDonald of Westwood and Helen G. McDonald of Walpole. Loving grandmother of Kathleen and Brian McDonald, and Anna McDonald Martin. Dedicated friend and mother-in-law of Marian McDonald of Westwood and Crista Martin of Walpole. Devoted sister of Dotty Cummings, Buddy O’Handley, Peggy Calella and Richard O’Handley and the late Della Lucey, Martha Pomer, and Barbara Scott. Her extended family were also her closest friends and companions and include her sibling’s spouses and her husband’s seven brothers and their wives. She was beloved by her many nieces and nephews and loved to visit with them and see her family continue to grow with joy. She formed an extended family with several other dear friends whom she saw weekly, including Marisa, Kim and Santiago.
Mildred was adored for her warmth, her humor, and her kind word for all, and was known for her passion for the Red Sox, reading, her baking, a love of poetry, a simple afternoon with her family, and, of course, bingo.
