Michael A. Kelly, 67, of Bourne, Massachusetts, formerly Dover, MA, died peacefully in his sleep while at his Bourne home on April 19th, 2024.
Michael let his love for others be known, through humor, late night calls, conversations over music, movies, or sports, and weather updates for big storms or sunnier days. He was always looking for ways to connect and care for those he loved.
He was born in Boston to Joseph P. Kelly and Margaret M. Kelly. From an early age, Michael took on the role of caregiving especially in regards to looking out for his two younger brothers and older brother with Down Syndrome. Michael graduated from Westwood High School before attending Boston University for a short time. After working in the car business for many years, Michael continued his parents’ legacy in running a family-owned home healthcare agency. His work in home healthcare was yet another example of Michael’s ability to connect with, provide support, and care for those who needed it the most.
Michael was preceded in death by both his parents and two of his brothers Dennis Kelly and Ronald Kelly, and is survived by his former wife Pamela and two daughters Alexandra Kelly and Alyssa Kelly. He is also survived by many more loving family members and friends. Michael will always be remembered for his sense of humor and for the way that he always looked out for those he cared about. We’ll always imagine hearing Michael say “love you more” and “see you at the beach” one last time. We couldn’t have asked for a more loving father and friend; he will be missed every day.
As per Michael’s request, there will be no services; a celebration of life will be scheduled sometime this summer by the Cape Cod Dunes. Details will be shared in the coming months. Donations may be made in Michael’s memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
