Maxine F. Sloan

Sloan, Maxine F. (Kennedy), of Norwood and a longtime resident of Westwood, died July 24th 2018. Affectionately known as Max and Gam, Maxine was the beloved wife of the late John D. Sloan. Loving mother of Patricia Sloan Hunt and her husband Trey of Mount Vernon, NY and the late John R. Sloan. Devoted grandmother of Carolyn Sloan Hunt of Utica, NY and Matthew B. Sloan and his wife Rachel F. Paiste of Boston. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and dear friends.
The daughter of Jessica Shally Kennedy and Charles F. Kennedy, Maxine was born October 2, 1922 in New Orleans, La. While working for the New Orleans Port of Embarkation during World War II, she met the love of her life, her husband John who predeceased her in 1993. She will be remembered always for her passion for life.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., WESTWOOD, on Thursday August 2 from 4-7pm. Funeral procession from the funeral home on Friday morning Aug. 3rd at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St., Westwood at 10am. Interment at New Westwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maxine's memory to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society/LLS.org.
