Mary B. Hubbell

Mary B. Hubbell, 93, of Westwood, MA passed away on November 17, 2024. Mary was born on February 2, 1931 in Rochester, NY. She was the daughter of the late John Oliver and Agnes Beuckman. 

Mary graduated from high school in 1949. Out of high school she worked for Eastman Kodak. She married the late Charles H. Hubbell in 1956 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Rochester, NY and they were married for 64 years. Later years Mary was employed by the former Brockelman’s Grocery, Farmstand, and Frasier and Wagner. She was talented at and greatly enjoyed tole painting, was an avid daylily gardener, a Master Gardener, and President of the Westwood Garden Club. Mary was Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion and filled various volunteer positions at St. Denis Church in Westwood. She volunteered at Westwood Public Library and Westwood High School for years. Mary also participated in several gatherings at the Council on Aging in Westwood. 

Mary is survived by Michael and Patricia Hubbell and their daughter Aran Kathleen and her husband Zackary Downey; Kathleen and Mark Brooks and their daughters Elizabeth Brooks and Andrea and her husband Steven Rice, and her great-granddaughter Lydia Marie Rice; James Hubbell and his partner Jamie Levin; Robert and Kellyann Hubbell and their daughters Stephanie and Avery and their son Joseph. She was predeceased by her husband Charles and their daughter Patricia A. Hurley. Mary is also survived by many loving nieces.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 22nd at 11 am at St. Denis Church, 157 Washington Street, Westwood. There will be a Visitation in St. Denis Church from 10:30 am - 11 am to meet with Mary’s family prior to the Mass. Interment after the Mass at New Westwood Cemetery.
