Mary “Cleo” Guerriero died peacefully in her home in Westwood on March 30, just four days after her 92nd birthday. She was the devoted wife of the late Christy F. Guerriero, the daughter of the late George and Annie Karafotias, and the sister of the late Peter , Charlie and Harry Karafotias, Betty Thomas and Evelyn Papadopoulos. She is survived by her two loving children George of Taunton and Christine of Westwood.
Born and raised in West Roxbury, Mary moved to Westwood to raise her family, while working as a secretary for various technology companies. Upon retirement from the Hebrew Rehab Center, she enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends, hosting holidays, and perfecting her chicken cacciatore recipe. She also loved visiting the local casinos as often as she could and relaxing watching the Game Show Network with her cats.
Visiting hours are Thursday April 4 from 4-8 PM at the Holden Dunn Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock Street, Westwood. A celebration of life to follow on Friday, April 5 at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 514 Parker Street, Boston at 11 AM. Interment at the Gardens Cemetery Gethsemane, 670 Baker St., West Roxbury.
