Mary Elizabeth (Lynch) Chatha

CHATHA - Mary Elizabeth (Lynch), 1948 - 2016, was born in New Haven, CT to her loving parents Phillip and Margaret Lynch. Mary spent most of her early years in Connecticut. Mary and her family moved to Pennsylvania and she graduated from Franklin Reginal High School. Mary attended Ivy art school in Pittsburgh. Mary loved painting and did it right up until she fell ill. She especially loved painting lighthouses in Maine. Mary also loved flowers and gardening. She owned a flower shop in Brookline, MA for years and used her eye for color and texture to create beautiful arrangements. Mary worked with her husband Andy Chatha for many years, then retired young enough to have time with family and her Boston Terriers. Mary lived in the Boston suburbs for the past 36 years. Mary will be dearly missed by her husband Andy, her children Laura, Kate, Kim and Alex, their spouses, and her 7 grandchildren Conor, Cormac, Kylie, Lacey, Gannon, Brodie and Aralyn. She will also be dearly missed by her brothers Bob, John, Larry, and Mark, and her sisters Cathy, Margaret, Nancy, their spouses, and her 10 nieces and nephews. In accordance with her wishes, there will not be a funeral. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation in her name to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. A Memorial service will be held at Ogunquit Museum on August 27th from 5-7:30pm. We invite all family, friends and colleagues to come and help celebrate Mary with her family. We will be placing her ashes off the Ogunquit beach and Marginal Way, where she wanted to be forever.
