Marie lived a wonderful, involved life enjoying the love and companionship of her husband, Ed. Marie was born and grew up in Dorchester in St. Gregory’s Parish, where she attended all the parish schools, and graduated from St. Gregory’s High, Class of 1948. She went on to graduate from Katherine Gibbs, where she launched her career at the Suffolk County Court House, holding positions of increasing responsibility and earning a special commendation from Chief Justice Reardon. Once married, Marie and Ed moved to Hyde Park where they raised their sons and subsequently moved to Westwood, all while continuing her career as a legal secretary in a private practice for 25 years.
Marie always relished time with family and friends – some friendships staying close for over 80 years. In retirement, Marie and Ed traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe. They actively participated in parish life at St. Denis in Westwood, including helping to coordinate numerous parish trips. After moving to Linden Ponds in Hingham, Marie and Ed were considered “Pioneers”, first residents, where they helped to establish several community clubs. Throughout her long life, Marie felt blessed to attend the special events in her childrens’, grandchildrens’, and great-grandchildrens’ lives, enjoying family celebrations right through the most recent holidays.
