Fitzgerald, M. Gloria of Westwood, MA. Gloria was born to George and Mary Grafton in 1934, and was the beloved wife of the late Martin J. Fitzgerald IV and the devoted grandmother of Martin J. Fitzgerald VI and Michael C. Fitzgerald. She passed away peacefully at her home on Christmas Day, 2017, surrounded by her loving children, Susan M. Fitzgerald of Norwood, Martin J. Fitzgerald of Northborough, James M. Fitzgerald of Westwood, and Judith F. Donovan of Newton.
Gloria grew up in Portland, Maine, and graduated from Westbrook College. Gloria and her husband moved to Westwood in 1969, to raise their children. Gloria was an avid antiques collector and dealer, and was often up early on weekends to scour estate sales. She could often be found with her eldest daughter at the Brimfield flea market. Gloria also volunteered for many years at the Glad Rags Thrift Shop in Westwood, where she made many longtime friends.
Her children fondly remember her wonderful sense of humor and especially her kindness. She was the heart of her family and is deeply missed by her children, family, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood, MA, on Friday December 29th, from 4 to 8PM. Funeral procession from the funeral home on Saturday morning December 30, at 8:00AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Catherine of Siena Church, 549 Washington St., Norwood, MA at 9AM. Interment at New Westwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gloria's memory to the Carmelite Sisters at http://www.sistersofcarmel.org
