Louis Sicard

d. October 23, 2021

Louis Eugene Robert Sicard, of Westwood, died at the age of 96, peacefully at home, in the company of loved ones on October 23, 2021.

Louis was born on December 12, 1924, in Migné-Auxances, Vienne, France, to Joseph Euclid Sicard of Biddeford, Maine, and Marie Radigonde Perrault, of Migné, the second of three sons. He treasured the childhood he spent with his brothers Joseph Euclid and Paul Jean Henri, among family in France before finding themselves separated by World War II.

Louis fondly remembered his first trans-Atlantic voyage, at the age of 9, accompanied only by his brother Euclid, to spend a summer in Maine with family. Louis would maintain a connection with his Maine relatives, and with their assistance, he made a permanent home in the United States in 1948. It was here that he met Patricia N. Pinard, who he married in Lewiston, Maine on December 29, 1955 and committed himself to for the next 55 years, until her death on December 24, 2010.

The couple headed a large family, which Louis was always excited to boast about, comprised of his seven children: Marie Spinello, Lorriane Cavanaugh, Robert Sicard, Paul Sicard, Daniel Sicard, Suzanne Werner, and Michelle Parisi, his fifteen grandchildren: Michael Spinello II, Nicholas Spinello, Cristina Geddis, Danielle Ingham, Bryan Sicard, Anthony Parisi, Sophie Werner, Travis Sicard, Meghan Sicard, Cody Sicard, Justin Sicard, William Sicard, Alexander Werner, Jeffrey Parisi, and Jaylen Parisi, and his four great-grandsons: Ryan Spinello, Michael Spinello III, Jack Spinello, and Graham Geddis.

Louis spent many years working for Rockwell, Pepperell and the Leesona Corporations, for which he traveled extensively to share his unique skills in the brand new computer technology field. It was on his travels that he first developed his love of Matchbox diecast toy cars. As his collection of Matchbox grew, he treasured the community he found among the Boston Area Toy Collector Club.

Louis is predeceased by both parents, brother Paul, and wife Patricia. He is survived by his brother Euclid, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, both in the United States and in France.
