Leo F. Phalen

PHALEN – Leo F., of Norwood, died suddenly on May 31st 2014. Beloved husband of Donna M. (Dwyer) Phalen for 57 years. Loving father of Anne Blackington and her husband Charles of Norwood, Julie Lydon and her husband Stephen of Norwood, Linda Phalen and her husband J. Lee Hargraves of Sterling and the late Stephen Phalen. Father-in-Law of Rhonda Phalen of Bartlett, NH. Devoted grandfather of Kendra Phalen, Leo and Kimberlyn Lydon, Brittany Blackington and Erik and Emma Hargraves. Brother of Margaret Childs of Billerica and the late Mary Adams of Norwood. Brother-in-Law of Richard Adams of Norwood. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Leo was the founder and president of Quill Publications Inc. of Needham, MA. He was past president of the Boston Club of Printing House Craftsmen and past Governor and Chairman of the New England Chapter of the International Association of Printing House Craftsmen. Leo was a member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #252 of Norwood and a member of the Bishop Minihan Fourth Degree Assembly. Leo was a Korean U.S. Air Force Veteran.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St. (off Route 109) Westwood on Thursday June 5th from 4-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning June 6th at 10am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 549 Washington St., Norwood. Interment with military honors at Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
