FLANAGAN, Leo Anthony, age 86, of Salem New Hampshire, formerly of Norfolk Massachusetts and Naples Florida, died September 27, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband for 50 years to the late M. Justine (Cook) Flanagan. Loving father of Leo A. Flanagan Jr. and his wife Carlene of Andover and Julie M. Cook and her husband David Schulman of Plymouth MA. Leo was the brother of Paul Flanagan of Venice FL, and the brother-in-law of Brother Richard Cook, CFX of Malden MA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Leo was predeceased by his loving siblings Teresa Sheehan, as well as Mary, William, and Richard Flanagan.
Leo was born in Arlington MA on April 22, 1936 and was the son of the late Martin and Anna (Sullivan) Flanagan. He was a proud graduate of Merrimack College where he was honored to serve on the Board of Trustees for many years. For over 25 years, he was the proud owner of Flanagan's Supermarkets where made many lifelong friends. Leo was an enthusiastic golfer and a long-time member of both Charles River Country Club in Newton MA and Pelican Bay Country Club in Naples FL.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 4th at 9:30am at the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home 55 High Rock St., Westwood. Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring St., Medfield at 11:30am. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Dover.
