Leo Joseph Crowe

Crowe, Leo Joseph Jr., of Westwood, MA and Benedicta, ME passed away on January 8, 2019. A lifelong resident of Westwood, he honorably served in the U.S. Army as a captain. He was the Assistant Superintendent of Westwood Public Schools for 38 years, and he proudly served on numerous state and town committees, including the Westwood Sports Hall of Fame, Westwood Conservation Commission, Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association, Massachusetts Association of School Business Officials (President 1974-1975) and the Association of School Curriculum Development, to name just a few. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), and served on the National Ski Patrol. He loved fishing and hunting at his cabin in Maine and skiing at Wildcat Mountain in New Hampshire with his friends from the Prospectors Ski Club, of which he was a member for 60 years. He leaves his wife Denise (Sexton) and children, Lee and Lindsay Crowe and Anne and Scott Grant and grandchildren Hannah and Bridget Crowe. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with Leo's family on Monday, January 14th from 4-7pm at the Holden, Dunn, and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock Street, Westwood. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am Tuesday, January 15th at St. Denis Church, 157 Washington St, Westwood. A private burial will be held at a later date.
