Leila Annette Stringer

November 29, 1970 — January 23, 2021

Leila Annette Stringer was born on November 29, 1970 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Odell Stringer, Jr. and LaRoyce Yvonne Stevens. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas-Mercy High School in May 1989. She attended the University of Dayton, in Dayton, Ohio and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she majored in mathematics and computer science.

Leila was an avid sports enthusiast who played basketball, tennis and soccer. She took great pleasure in listening to sports radio and was a fierce Celtics fan.

Leila moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2001. The MS advanced rapidly and took away much of her mobility – she was wheelchair-bound in the course of 18 months after the onset.

In 2005 she moved to Plainville, Massachusetts. In January 2010 she moved to The Boston Home where she resided until her hospitalization in October 2020. After her most recent hospitalization of three months, she entered into palliative care and passed away peacefully on January 23, 2021.

Leila had a very positive attitude and was known for her courtesy and her wry wit to her caregivers with friends, never letting the MS darken her spirit. She was known as a "fighter" who loved to laugh and loved her family as they loved her.

She is survived by her son, Quinton Coneal, her mother LaRoyce Stringer, her Uncles Vladimir Stevens and Paul Aronian, her Boston Home family, family friends, and relatives. She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation for your acts and thoughts of kindness to us during our bereavement. There will be no visiting hours. Burial will be private.
