Kathleen M. Cappuccino

Kathleen “Kathy” M. Cappuccino, 95, of Westwood, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Formerly of Dedham, she was born on March 22, 1931, in Boston to the late John J and Mary D (Liberator) Kerrigan and formally of Dedham. Kathleen was the beloved wife of her late husband, Ernest (Ernie) R. Cappuccino, with whom she shared 49 wonderful years of marriage.

She was the beloved mother, survived by her five children, Gary Cappuccino of Norwood, Lisa (Cappuccino) Pratti and husband Tom of Bridgewater, Brian Cappuccino and wife Maureen of Norfolk, Lynda (Cappuccino) Johnson and late husband Ray of Foxborough, Scott Cappuccino and wife Karen of Westwood, and along with her beloved and cherished grandchildren, Vincent, Nicholas and wife Michelle, Anthony, John, Nathaniel, Christian, Jinah, Jed, Daniel and great grandchild Jade. All her Kerrigan siblings have pre-deceased her. Also, she is survived by her loving niece Lisa Giacchi of North Providence, RI, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Kathleen was a devoted homemaker and mother who dedicated her life to raising her five children along side her husband Ernie. Their Westwood home, where they lived for 55 years, was filled with countless memories of family holidays, birthdays, summers around the pool, and joyful cookouts. Her family was her greatest gift and source of pride, joy and accomplishment. She was a proud “Grandma” who loved nothing more than spoiling her grandchildren with gifts, attention, and affection.

Kathy was an avid skier. She and Ernie enjoyed winters skiing in North Conway, New Hampshire at their second home with family. As members of the Pole Cat ski club, she and Ernie hosted many ski trips with their dearest friends, sharing lunch breaks on Wildcat Mountain which always involved Italian cheese and wine.

Kathleen loved Boston sports, especially the Patriots and the Red Sox. She had an extraordinary love for the Boston Red Sox, a passion shared with Ernie, and with her children. Whether watching the game or simply talking baseball, the Boston Red Sox were always a part of her life. She treated her children and grandkids to a game at Fenway and even up until her final days, she never missed a game.

Kathleen was a devout Catholic and proud member of St. Margaret Mary Church of Westwood where she and her family celebrated many of life’s meaningful sacraments. She faithfully attended Mass, including on Holy Days, and especially cherished attending the Anniversary Mass of her late husband Ernie. Kathleen’s faith and relationship with God was constant and guiding presence in her life.

Kathleen leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories, and a beautiful legacy that will remain in our hearts forever. We all are incredibly grateful and blessed to have shared in her long and beautiful life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours at the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on Thursday September 3rd from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High Street, Westwood on Friday morning September 4th at 10am. Interment following the Mass at New Westwood Cemetery.
