CUSICK – Katheryn, "KAY", of Fox Hill Village, Westwood, formerly of Weston, died October 28th, 2013.
Beloved daughter of the late Walter J. and Katherine (Cook) Cusick formerly of Brookline. Loving sister of Jane M. Handrahan of South Yarmouth and the late Mary K. Donovan, Walter J. Cusick Jr., Gerard F. Cusick, Elizabeth A. Murphy, Philip P. Cusick, Paul V. Cusick and Robert J. Cusick. Also survived by 17 loving nieces and nephews.
Kay's early years were spent in Brookline with summers and weekends on Cape Cod. Kay graduated from Brookline High School in 1936, Chandler School for Women in 1938 and earned her M.B.A. from Simmons College in 1977. She had 25 years of employment with Westinghouse in Boston when, in 1964, she became associated with the Neurosciences Research Program (MIT). In 1979 she was recognized for her contribution as Executive Director, Administration and Finance and was presented a silver bowl signed by six Nobel Laureates and nine Presidents of the Neuroscience Research Society. The bowl is now in the MIT Museum. Kay retired from the Program in 1984 and enjoyed her retirement with family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St. (off Route 109) Westwood on Saturday morning Nov. 2nd from 9:30 – 10:30am. Following the visitation a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Margaret Mary Church at 11am. Interment at Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline at 2pm.
