Julieanne Pinel

Jun 11, 1969 — Oct 4, 2026

Walpole, MA & Westwood, MA

Julieanne Pinel, 57, of Walpole, formerly of Westwood, died at home on October 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband David Lebudzinski of Walpole and Webster. Julieanne was the cherished daughter of Roger and Katherine (Julie) (Schramm) Pinel of Westwood, the loving sister of Denise (Pinel) Cahill and brother-in-law Patrick Cahill of Westwood, the adored aunt of Alexis Cahill of Westwood, and the dear sister-in-law of Thomas Lebudzinski of Webster.

Julieanne was a 1987 graduate of Westwood High School. She attended Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire, where she received an undergraduate degree in Biology. After working several years in vaccine research for Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 2002. Upon graduation, Julieanne completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at Veterinary Specialists of Connecticut, where she stayed on as an associate veterinarian for several years. In 2008 she moved back to Massachusetts and joined Acorn Animal Hospital in Franklin as an associate veterinarian where she worked for the next 18 years until she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and could no longer do the work she loved.

Julieanne was an avid gardener who took great pleasure in transforming the land around their home into beautiful gardens that she could share with friends and family. Over the past several years, she began to focus on adding native plants where the bees from the hives she kept with Denise could find pollen and nectar. Julieanne enjoyed hiking, kayaking and traveling and found a special love for Ireland. During the winter months, she spent much of her spare time crocheting octopus for the NICUs at local hospitals. Hundreds of preemie babies found comfort holding the tentacles made by Julieanne until they were strong enough to go home. She had an affinity for orange cats, mini-lop bunnies and canaries which made for an interesting type of pet-chemistry at home. Julieanne was a dedicated, loving aunt who never missed an opportunity to support her niece from the sidelines of a softball field or the audience of a theater.

We would like to thank the staff at Beth Israel of Boston and Needham for the extraordinary care and compassion they showed Julieanne during her illness. We are grateful to her friends, neighbors and colleagues who showed up for her every time we needed them, and to Enhabit Home Health of Norwood and Good Shepherd Community Care for their kindness and dedication, which allowed Julieanne to remain in the comfort of her own home.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood, on Tuesday, October 13 from 4-7 pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 14 at 10 am in the funeral home. Interment, following the Funeral Service, will take place at New Westwood Cemetery.
