John "Jack" Walsh of Dover, MA passed away on February 18, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Trudy. Loving father of Heidi Doyle and her husband Peter, and son John. He was a devoted grandfather and proud new great grandfather. He is also survived by his brother Don and wife Holly along with many nieces and nephews.
Jack grew up in the Savin Hill section of Dorchester. He played baseball, football, and basketball in his "youth", he loved his Boston teams but watching his kids, and later grand kids was his biggest joy. He served in the Air Force and the Reserves, retiring as Captain. While on active duty and stationed in Germany, he met his wife Trudy. He had a life-long career with New England Telephone as an electrical engineer. After retiring, Jack volunteered for several Dover Town committees and boards. He was an active participant with the Dover Council on Aging's Ukulele group: The Happy Strummers. Jack loved to talk about sports, town happenings and his grandkids. He was a great role model for them and will be dearly missed.
A service and celebration of Jack's life will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at The Dover Church, 17 Springdale Ave, at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack's memory and sent to the Friends of the Dover Council On Aging, PO Box 250, Dover, MA 02030
