John T. Riley of Norwood, MA passed away in his sleep on Tuesday April 14th, 2026. He was the son of the late Mary (Houghton) Riley formerly of Westwood, MA and the late John J. Riley formerly of Syracuse, NY and brother of the late Daniel E. Riley formerly of Boston.
John is survived by his brother Michael Riley and Sister-In-Law Patricia of Norton, MA. Also survived by his niece Katherine M. Riley of Norton; his niece Kristen Levy and her husband David Levy of Sandwich, MA as well as his two grand nephews, Sean and Ryan also of Sandwich; his nephew Michael M. Riley and his wife Molly H. Riley of Mashpee, MA as well as his two grand nieces, Olivia and Kayla also of Mashpee.
John was proud to have served his country having spent 9 years with the National Guard during the Korean War. He was very close to his family and always cherished their visits. He worked for over 40 years in construction before retiring at 64 due to serious injury on the job that left him permanently disabled. After his accident, he worked as a proud volunteer at the former Norwood Hospital. He enjoyed watching his Boston sports teams, especially the Patriots and Bruins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on Saturday April 18th from 8:30am – 9:30am. Following the Visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 549 Washington St., Norwood at 10am. Interment will be private.
