Lund – John D., of Westwood and Chatham, formerly of Dedham, died suddenly August 14, 2015.
Beloved husband of Carole A. (Willett) Lund for 60 years. Loving father of Patricia Lund and Peter Donovan of Needham, John Lund and Tanya Kneeland of Hingham and Christopher and Cheryl Lund of Cohasset. Devoted grandfather of Anthony, Carissa and her husband John, Julie, Carole, Johnny, Alexandra, Madison, Nicole, Christopher, Michael, and Matthew. Great Grandfather of Sophie. Brother of the late Muriel Andersen.
John was a World War II Navy Veteran, Past President of Dedham Savings Bank, Member of American Legion Post 18, Past President of the Society in Dedham for the Apprehension of Horse Thieves and an All Star catcher for High Street Market softball team.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on Thursday Aug. 20th from 4 – 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning August 21st at 10 am in St. Margaret Mary's Church, 845 High Street, Westwood. Interment with military honors at Old Westwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's name to - Wounded Warrior Project, Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
