Callanan, John W., of Norwood, formerly of West Roxbury, died June 14, 2017.
Beloved husband of Marie (Ferrick) Callanan for 68 years. Loving father of Gail Sebet and her husband Bill of Westwood, Richard Callanan and his wife Paula of Needham, Lynne Greeley and her husband Kevin of Norwood and the late John W. "Jace" Callanan Jr. Father-in-Law of Joan Callanan of Franklin. Devoted grandfather of Kristen, Michelle, Matthew, Sarah, Charlie and Christopher and great grandfather of Aly and Jace. Brother of Patsy Devilly of Dorchester and the late Joseph, Henry, James and Paul Callanan and the late Margaret Sheridan. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on Monday June 19th from 4-7pm. Funeral procession from the funeral home on Tuesday morning June 20th at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Denis Church, 157 Washington St., Westwood at 10am. Interment with military honors at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to Compassionate Care Hospice, 800 West Cummings Park, Suite 3100, Woburn, MA 01801.
John was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
