Jean Boshco, 75, of Medfield, MA passed away on Monday, September 18th, around sunset. She died peacefully, without any pain, in the comfort of her own home, and with many visits from friends and family during her last days.
Jean was born and raised in Providence, RI. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island, and she received a master’s degree from Lesley University. She taught kindergarten in Westwood, MA for over 30 years, and in doing so, she delivered the first year of public-school education to almost 800 different children over the course of her career.
Jean was a dear friend and family member to so many. She was a selfless, natural listener; she had a default positive state; and she exemplified what it means to be a mother. She imparted the values of education, hard work, resilience, and the importance of moving forward, and she had an uncanny ability to remember the names of people and the details of places.
Jean was an amazing mother to her son Brett and her daughter-in-law Kali, and she was an amazing grandmother to her grandson Finn. She was the beloved daughter of the late Carmine and Virginia; dear sister to the late Anthony, Edward, and Susan; dear sister-in-law to Denise and Karen; devoted aunt to all her nieces and nephews; loving family member to all of their children, too; and caring friend and family member to so many more. Jean’s family would like to acknowledge her cherished niece Stephanie, her longtime friend Sheila, and Dr. Vaishali Sanchorawala - all for the love, time, and attention that they gave to Jean, and to her end-of-life care.
