Jane Redfield Forsberg
May 30, 1934 – August 22, 2018

Suddenly and unexpectedly, Jane Redfield Forsberg, of Westwood, MA and Cape Porpoise, ME, previously of Montclair, NJ, passed away with family by her side on August 22, 2018. She was a high school graduate of Montclair Kimberly Academy in Montclair, NJ. She graduated from Wheaton College, class of 1956, in Norton, MA. Jane will be missed by all for her loving, caring, giving, selfless, inspirational and most importantly devoted friendships.
Jane spent her early parental years advocating for inclusion and integration of special needs individuals in the Westwood Public School System. She authored the book "Our Kathy", a book on awareness around special needs children. She continued her work, becoming the Chairman of the Board of the ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens) of South Norfolk County. She eventually brought an awareness program to 3rd and 4th grade students in seven local school districts within the South Norfolk area. Jane was also a member of the Handicap Commission for both the ARC and the Town of Westwood. Throughout her life she continuously promoted the mission of the ARC, focusing on both school-age and adult special needs individuals to integrate them into their schools, workplaces, and communities.
Jane was always a very involved and active member in her community. She was part of the Foxhill Garden Club and a member of the Chilton Club in Boston. She was a long time member of the First Parish Church in Westwood, the Dedham Country and Polo Club, and the Cape Arundel Golf Club in Kennebunkport, ME. She had served as committee chair and lead organizer for many events and programs including DCPC ladies golf, Cape Arundel Nine and Dine golf evenings and the Mom's committee at Chimney Corners Camp, a YMCA camp in the Berkshires. She was president of her class at Wheaton College and a member of the synchronized swim team. She loved traveling, playing bridge, playing golf, but most importantly, spending time with her family and friends.
Jane is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Russell Forsberg; her daughter Katherine Louise Forsberg of Norwood, MA; her son Robert Russell Forsberg, Jr. and his wife Laurel Anne of Ridgefield, CT; her daughter Kristen Jane Diebus and her husband Mark of Medway, MA; her sister Aubin (Teeny) Sander of Pittsboro, NC; her brother William Redfield, Jr. of Santa Rosa, CA; her sister-in-law Ann Conner of Newport, RI; and sister-in-law Jane Berriman and husband Bruce of Newport, RI.
