James J. Reilly

d. July 22, 2019

Jim Reilly lived each day to its fullest! Quick to laugh, easy to love and generous beyond words accurately describe the man so many people loved and will so dearly miss. Jim died unexpectedly on Monday, July 22, 2019. He was 62. Born on February 8, 1957 he was a son of the late John N. and Rosella M.  (Coarr) Reilly. Raised in Islington, he was a graduate of Westwood High School and later earned his degree from Franklin Institute in Boston.

He married Westwood native Kathleen M. Warren on July, 29th 1979 in Saint Denis Church. They made Westwood and Bass River their homes. Jim was the founder of Reilly Electrical Contractors, Inc. in 1993. He had worked in the electrical industry since 1974 working his way up from an apprentice to journeyman to master electrician. In the process, he has held positions from Project Foreman to Vice President of Operations, handling a manpower department consisting of over 200 field electricians. Jim strongly believed one of the keys to the success of the company has been its ability to recruit and retain top quality personnel. RELCO's strongest attribute is its commitment to work as a team with the quality personnel that is in place. As a proud American the flag flew at his home and the best holiday of the year was the 4th of July, when family and friends gathered at his home on Cape Cod for a lobster bake. When Jim wasn't spending time with his family, he also enjoyed boating on the waters of Cape Cod, catching a Red Sox or Patriots game or playing a round of golf at Charles River Country Club. Always mindful of where he came from, he remained close to his roots and many of his childhood friends. And likewise, he was generous to his Town of Westwood and various charities throughout the area. In addition to his wife of 40 years, Kathy he leaves their children, Jill Reilly of Dedham and Sean Reilly and his fiancée Kara Ballotti of Osterville; his siblings, the late John and his wife, Pamela Reilly of Walpole; Patricia Reilly of Centerville, Stephen Reilly and his wife, Deborah of Westwood, Karen Reilly and her spouse Judy Arrigo of North Andover, Maryellen Irvine and her husband, Bill of Westwood, and Paul Reilly and his wife, Sharyn of Norfolk; brother in law of John Warren of Yarmouth, Mark Warren and his wife, Susan of Medfield, Brian Warren and his wife, Joanne of Yarmouth, Nancy Warren and her husband Kevin Glasheen of Medfield, Greg Warren and his wife Lorri of Westwood. Jim also leaves a loving brood of nieces and nephews, cousins and longtime friends. Family and friends will honor and remember Jim's life by gathering for calling hours in Saint Denis Church, 157 Washington Street, Westwood, on Sunday, July 28th from 2:30 to 8 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in New Westwood Cemetery. At the request of the family, please omit flowers. In memory of Jim, donations can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
