James P. Maxwell

James P. Maxwell, of Norwood, MA formerly of Westwood, MA died April 14, 2023. Beloved husband of Carole J. (Boyce) Maxwell for 58 years. Loving father of Eric Maxwell and his wife Amber of Westwood, MA; Steve Maxwell and his wife Leslie of Broomfield, CO.

Blessed in life to have spent time making memories with grandchildren: Luke Boyce, Briana Renee, and Colin James Maxwell.

Jim is also survived by his loving sister Teresita (Maxwell) Leonard of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A native of Queens New York and graduate of Stuyvesant High School (NY) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1960), Jim found professional joy applying his engineering talents at Analog Devices and Xenon Corporation. Jim found the love of his life and married Carole Boyce of Fitchburg, MA in 1965. They raised their family in Westwood, MA, active in youth sports and scouting, and travelled the world together, with fondness for their ocean vacations in Aruba and Myrtle Beach, SC.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Holden, Dunn & Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on Monday April 24^th from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning April 25^th at 10am in St. Denis Church, 157 Washington St., Westwood. Interment at New Westwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to the American Heart Association.
