Leschishin - Iris N. (Chehowy) of Walpole, formerly of Cleveland, OH and Thunder Bay, Ontario; dear sister of Nestor of Thunder Bay, devoted mother to Denis of Duluth, MN, Mark of Wawa, Ontario, Gregory of Waltham, Taras of Roslindale and cherished aunt of Elissa Homenock Collens of Virginia; grandmother to Amber Lynn Vreeman, Ryan Leschishin, Paul Leschishin and Ana Leschishin of Minnesota; great-grandmother to Alyssa, Addison, Tyler and Drew Vreeman of Minneapolis, MN.
Born in Old Fort William, Ontario March 2, 1926, graduated from McKellar Hospital Nursing School in Thunder Bay and had a long career in nursing beginning with The Cleveland Clinic in 1950 followed by stints at Women's Hospital, Parma Hospital and Metro General. Relocated to Boston in 1992 and worked at Victoria Haven Nursing Home in Norwood. Traveled extensively the last 20 years and spending quality time as a grandmother and great-grandmother; always a giving aunt and grandmother who loved family and politics.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St. (off Route 109) Westwood on Sunday Dec. 8th from 2-6pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday morning Dec. 9th at 11am in St. Michael Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 74 Harris Ave., Woonsocket, RI. Interment private.
