WOICIK - Ilia Virgina (Llompart) passed away peacefully in her home on February 5, 2016, with children and grandchildren at her bedside. She was born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico May 20th, 1920 and moved to the continental United States at the age of three. A social butterfly, to say the least, Ilia valued time spent with family, friends, and even strangers. She was up for any group activity, hosting weekly card games over the years, excelling in a bowling league, and even joining the Westwood Garden Club in her later age. Her home cooked dishes were famous and a love for food and cooking inspired her career as a dietician. She worked for several years at Georgetown University Medical Center, where she met her beloved husband, Edward Woicik, who awaits her in heaven. Both were long time parishioners at St. Denis Church in Westwood, MA, where Ilia served as both a Sunday school teacher and church secretary. Ilia is survived by her daughter, Mary Woicik and husband Tom Madden of Westwood; sons Joe Woicik and wife Kathy of Attleboro; Mike Woicik of Dallas, TX; Steve Woicik and wife Nancy of Somers, CT; and Chris Woicik and wife Lynda of Manhattan Beach, CA. Also survived by nine loving grandchildren and five wonderful step-grandchildren. Having passed at the age of 95, Ilia also had the pleasure of welcoming six beautiful great-grandchildren into the world. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on Monday Feb. 8th from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning Feb. 9th at 10am in St. Denis Church, 157 Washington St., Westwood. Interment at New Westwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ilia's memory to the Perkins School for the Blind, 175 N. Beacon Street, Watertown, MA 02472 or online at perkins.org.
