Helen M. (Winslow), O'Hara

O'Hara, Helen M. (Winslow), of New Pond Village, Walpole, formerly of Canton, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2018 at age 94. Beloved wife of the late John C. O'Hara, the late Edward H. Schnetzer and the late Neil Flaherty. Loving stepmother of John C. O'Hara Jr., Stephen O'Hara, Anne Johnson and Jane Chappelle; and several step-grandchildren. Loving sister to the late Raimond L. Winslow, Bernice Sanborn, Dorothy Anderson, Viola Hagerty, Phyllis Winslow and Marjorie Holmes. Loving aunt of many nieces and nephews; and a special thank-you to my wonderful dedicated caregivers and numerous dearest friends. Helen graduated from Pennell Institute, Gray, Maine and served in the Waves during WWII and Korea.
She worked for the U. S. Government for 34 years in various positions for the VA, Air Force, DCASR, NASA and Transportation Systems Center. Helen was also an avid golfer at Wampatuck Country Club. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., WESTWOOD on Friday morning Feb. 23rd from 9 – 10:00am. Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Timothy's Church, 650 Nichols St., Norwood, MA 02062 at 10:30am. Interment with U.S. Navy Military Honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Tuesday Feb. 27th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to St. Timothy's Parish at the address indicated above.
