George F. Scanlon

SCANLON – George F., of Westwood, died April 4th, 2010. Beloved husband of the late Doris L. (Connolly) Scanlon. Loving father of Michael J. Scanlon of Westwood, Gail M. Brash of Needham and Gary M. Scanlon of Walpole. Also survived by 8 grandchildren. Brother of the late Edward Scanlon.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St. (off Route 109) Westwood on Wednesday April 7th from 4-8pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday morning at April 8th at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Timothy’s Church, Norwood at 10am. Interment with military honors at Highland Cemetery, Norwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George’s memory to The Friends of Westwood C.O.A., 60 Nahatan St., Westwood, MA 02090. George was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and the recipient of both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal.
